An illustration of a rare and majestic breed of dragon, entranced by a mermaid's song. Had a lot of fun doing the shadows on this one. Graphite and charcoal on bristol. For Kenzer & Co.

Looks like the fish are also entranced by the mermaids song. Such an exquisite image. The Dragon is quite majestic, you've chosen an excellent pose, and the mermaid and fish, despite the lack of detail available due to size, are very lovely and filled with their own character. Your lines and shading are simply splendid, not too much, not too little, all very clear and easy to see without overwhelming the eye. A beautiful piece that we would love to own, and it seems one of our Eggs likes it as well!

simply awesome. Well thought out design, and I love the little mermaid and fishes. Gives you a real sense of size, while at the same time giving a sneak into what I can imagine is a great story :)

You're very kind - thanks very much! Part of each brief I had for these D&D monsters was to include a human, mainly for scale, but also as an indication of what the monster could do.
I'm glad this illustration had the intended effect, at least on your viewing. =)
