A group of kobolds, little dragon-like monsters from D&D, gather in a corner of their warren to chew the fat. I was commissioned by Kenzer to create the feel that all of the kobolds were from different castes or classes. What do you think? Pencil and Photoshop CS. For Kenzer & Co.

I love pictures that tell a story, especially when they're as imaginative and skillfully crafted as Kobold Conversation by ~innerabove. I wonder what these little guys are up to? (Featured by `silentkitty)

the detail is definitely one of the best, but to put character to each and everyone of them, that's the really brilliant part.

Ah, D&D...gotta love it. From a distance, however, it looked like the two on the right were doing the naughty in front of the others. ;-) Me and my perverted mind...oh, well. I guess I can partially blame how it gets a bit cluttered and confusing around that area...but otherwise, it's all drawn very well. I hope any TSR or Wizards of the Coast people see this...they'd be clever to commission some work from you.

while i think that this picture is so absolutely delightful...i was wondering if you knew that kobolds are actually russian kitchen spirits? they are little imps that cause the sugar to clump up and dry out, they spread crumbs around to bring the mice and all sorts of mischief. but if you leave them sweet things i think it is sweet things...it might just be an offering) they will gaurd your kitchen!

Yep, they do seem to be from all different castes. Little details like the three on the outer edge all seeming to be bowing to the ones in the center cause inferences from the body language. I like how you've painted the details in the background, I'm envious. A great picture and I'm sure the people it was commissioned for are loving it.
